People who wonder about music today?

It is no big deal. It is just a generational thing. When I was a kid listening to the bands you mentioned from the past, my parents wanted me to listen to Glenn Miller and Tommy Dorsey from the 40's. (Who as an adult I found to be great by the way) I am not familiar with many of the modern bands you mentioned but there are others from your generation I think are great too.
