Can someone be sued for slander?

for example my grandma called my uncle and told him that my great grandpa was mistreated by me and my great grandma and its so bad that she doesnt come over anymore and all this stuff and then my uncle got really mad and called my grandpa to confirm and btw my uncle is already really mad at her for some unknown reason but anyways can my great grandma sue her
